College Essay
Summer program for rising seniors
How AP support works: your student takes the AP course at their own high school, and we work alongside it through the year and into the May exam.
How we prepare
Small groups
Students work through problems, while a teacher watches how they think. That is the only reliable way to find where the reasoning breaks down.
By question type
Each kind of question is taught on its own, rather than working through one practice test after another.
Our own materials, at three levels
The hardest level is written in the real exam format, so the test itself is never the first look at it.
What each year is for
9
Nothing is due yet
Grades start counting. The best year to close any gap.
10
First signal
The first PSAT. Plan the SAT around the math course.
11
Test year
National merit PSAT in October, SAT in spring, AP exams in May.
12
Applications
Personal statement from the summer before; applications in the fall.
The personal statement starts the summer before 12th grade, a finished draft is welcome for a close read. We are not college counselors — school lists, application strategy, and per-college supplemental essays are outside what we take on.
